Location Data
We collect precise location information (GPS) only when you choose to record a run-, walk-, or ride-type workout inside the app.
Foreground collection – While the workout screen is open, we use location to calculate distance, pace, and plot your route on a map.
Background collection (Premium users only) – If you grant “Allow all the time” permission and enable Background Tracking in Settings, the app will continue gathering location while the screen is off so your workout stats stay accurate.
Storage & visibility – The raw coordinates stay on your device. Summary data (distance, pace, path) is saved to your workout history and, if you sign in, synced to your personal cloud backup.
Opt-out – You may (a) deny or revoke location permission in your device settings; (b) disable Background Tracking in the app; or (c) simply choose workouts that do not use GPS.
Data Synchronization & Backup
What we store — When you sign in (Google or email) we sync a summary of each workout—date, duration, distance, pace, calories, and the polyline that draws your route—plus your theme color and premium-status flag.
Where — The data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS 1.2) and at rest (AES-256) on Google Cloud / Firebase servers located in the United States.
Why — So you can restore history when you change or reset phones and keep multiple devices in sync.
How long — Synced data stays until you delete the workout or your account, or after 24 months of inactivity, whichever comes first. Local data never leaves your device unless you sign in or export it.
Your controls — You can export, delete, or request a full account wipe at any time by emailing admin@active-fitness-tracker.com.
Marketing Attribution & Campaign Analytics
We record events that tell us which external ad or promo brought you to Active – Fitness & Nutrition so we can see whether our marketing is working.
Tools used – Firebase Analytics and Google Ads “Install Referrer” (or a similar attribution SDK).
Data collected – Anonymous install referrer string, campaign/medium/source IDs, Advertising ID (AAID/IDFA), device model, OS version, and in-app conversion events such as account-created, first workout, or subscription purchase.
Purpose – Calculate install-to-signup and install-to-purchase rates, optimize ad spend, and stop showing you the same promo once you’ve installed.
